Brian Ireland

Brian Ireland is an Artificial Intelligence Engineer at the MITRE Corporation. Prior to joining MITRE in early 2023, Brian was an Infantryman in the 1st Ranger Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, deploying five times across Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, and Africa in support of Operation Inherent Resolve and Operation Freedom Sentinel. During his nine years in 1/75, Brian spent six years in a Rifle Platoon as an assaulter and the remainder of his time in the 1/75 Reconnaissance, Surveillance, and Target Acquisition (RSTA) section, which houses the battalion’s UAS, c-UAS, and technical surveillance capabilities. Brian’s time in Ranger Rifle Platoons and the RSTA section provided him with real-world experience in s-UAS-supported combat operations and c-UAS operations.

While at MITRE, Brian has most notably served as a tactical and operational subject matter expert for MITRE mission engineering teams, providing vignettes and use cases for future capabilities. Brian also holds his FAA Part 107 certification and currently serves as the Range Safety Lead for MITRE’s National Range.
