Debbie Garcia

Debbie Garcia began her service with the Texas Department of Public Safety’s Highway Patrol Division in 2018 as a Trooper. In 2024, she promoted to Highway Patrol Sergeant after serving as an Operator on the Tactical Marine Unit. She is a Field Training Officer, Drone Operator, Arrest and Control Tactics, Taser and ALERRT Instructor.

Sergeant Garcia serves on the Tactical Marine Unit’s equipment committee, where she tests, reviews, and recommends tools for commissioned personnel in the field. She is committed to advancing the integration of technology within law enforcement.

Sergeant Garcia earned her Master of Science in Criminal Justice from Lamar University in 2021. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from The University of Texas at San Antonio.
