Philip Turney

SSgt Philip Turney is a Combat Weather Craftsman in the United States Air Force (USAF) with a passion for meteorological topics and exploring new and growing fields of technology related to weather applications. With over 7 years of service in the Texas Air National Guard, SSgt Turney has an extensive record of supporting military and civilian operations, conducting training with the APSCON and Civil Air Patrol, and deploying in support of Operation Inherent Resolve in 2021.

In addition to his service record, SSgt Turney was the winner of the 2018 Thor's Legion Forecast Challenge, a Total Force award for best Weather Forecaster across 400 participants and 50 teams.

SSgt Turney continues to serve the state of Texas through Operation Lone Star, providing statewide weather and environmental intelligence.
